Bislama is the national language as well as one of the three official languages including English and French. Agriculture, tourism, offshore financial services, and raising cattle are deemed as four major resources for economy development. Subsistence agriculture has traditionally been the economic base of Vanuatu, together with an elaborate exchange network within and between islands.
